5.5 Disciplinary Status Outcomes Applied to 学生

  • 进行试用 is defined as a specified period of observation 和 evaluation of a student’s conduct. Any violation of University or residence hall policy committed by a student on 进行试用 is a serious violation 和 may result in separation from the University. Failure to complete discretionary sanctions while on 进行试用 may result in separation from the University. No more than one 进行试用 status shall be imposed on a student prior to the student being removed from the University community. While a student is serving a 进行试用, he/she is not in good conduct st和ing with the University, may not be permitted to hold elected office, nor represent the University in an official capacity.
     
  • 暂时分离(暂停) involves removal of the student from the University for a definite period of time (minimum of one semester), after which the student is eligible to return, 和 a permanent notation on one’s transcript. Conditions for readmission may be specified.
     
  • 永久分离(驱逐) refers to the removal of the student from the University. 如果被分配永久离职, a student at no time will be permitted to reenroll in classes at Indiana State University, 和 a permanent notation will be made on one’s transcript.
     
  • 紧急行动—The University has identified two types of 紧急行动: 紧急住房隔离 和 紧急大学分离. The Director of SCI or designee has been granted the authority by the University to remove a student from the University for a temporary period pending complaint resolution or other formal proceedings. The student is denied access to all property owned, 操作, or controlled by the University; is denied attendance 和/或 participation in classes; 和 is banned from attendance 和/或 use of University activities 和 facilities while under this status. 如果学生违反了这些条件, he/she will be subject to arrest 和 prosecution for criminal trespass.
    • 紧急住房隔离 removes the student from all residential facilities; however, they student will continue to have access to all other areas of the University. The decision to pursue an 紧急住房隔离 involves a collaborative conversation between SCI 和 the Office of 住宅生活. Appeals for 紧急住房隔离 must be directed to the office responsible for imposing this action for consideration.
    • Either 紧急行动 shall become immediately effective without prior notice whenever there is evidence that the continued presence of the student at the University poses a substantial 和 immediate threat to others or to the stability 和 continuance of University functions.
    • 紧急行动 may be lifted by the University at any time should information become available demonstrating the specific student is no longer considered a continued risk.
  • 在这个动作下, a student(s) shall be given a prompt opportunity to appear personally before the Director of SCI or a designee in order to discuss the following issues only:

    • The reliability of the information concerning the student’s conduct, including the matter of his or her identity, 和/或
    • Whether the conduct 和 surrounding circumstances reasonably indicate that the continued presence of the student on University premises poses a substantial 和 immediate threat to others or the stability 和 continuance.
  • A hearing with the University Conduct Board will be conducted no later than ten (10) business days from the imposition of this action. The student will be allowed to attend this hearing 和 is afforded the process established by the University for formal adjudication of alleged violations.
